Decarboxylation is a scientific way of saying getting your marijuana ready to consume. There are many different methods to accomplish this, and here is the way that worked for me. It’s about as hard as warming up leftover pizza.

Decarbing Cannabis
Equipment
- 1 oven
- 1 oven safe dish
- 1 tin foil
Ingredients
- 1 gram Marijuana flower or however much you want to make
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 240° Fahrenheit (115.5° Celsius)
- While the oven is heating, tear up or rough grind your marijuana. There is no need to overdo it, just break it down so that it decarboxylates evenly
- Place the cannabis in an oven-safe container, and cover it with tin foil, or even better, just wrap it in the foil. Covering your dish in foil helps keep the smell down, while wrapping accomplishes this even better
- Place the covered dish or foil wrapped cannabis in the oven and let bake for 30 minutes
- Let it cool for safe handling, and that’s it, you’re done! Your pot is activated, and ready to turn into edibles. I read that you can actually eat it and get the effects, but it didn’t sound appetizing so I never tried it.
Easy Edibles
I have a work area in my basement, including a toaster oven, and have never had a problem decarboxylating marijuana with it. If you’re not sure of the temperature of your oven, get an oven thermometer. If you underheat your pot, it won’t activate, and if you overheat it, you cook out the THC, making it ineffective. I have done this method numerous times and had great success.
Make cannabutter or cannaoil and substitute it for butter or oil in your favorite recipes
I love Rice Crispy treats; make them just like the box says, but substitute cannabutter for the butter
