To germinate your cannabis seeds using the soak method, all you will need is water and a container to hold the water.
The Soak Method
- Prepare
If using tap water, allow it to sit in an open container for 48 hours so any chlorine can evaporate
- Save time
Use purified or distilled water to skip step number one
- Fresh
Change the water every 12 hours to keep it fresh
- Time
Allow the seeds to soak for 24 hours.
- Sprout
After 24 hours, if they sprout a half-inch tail, remove the seeds from the water
- Wait
The seeds should germinate within a few days to a week.
- Plant
Place your seedling in soil or the medium that you are going to grow in
- Problems
If your seed doesn’t sprout, make sure to give it a week. If it still hasn’t sprouted, you have a dud. If a seed floats, it may be bad, but you should try soaking anyways, there are exceptions
Use distilled or filtered water if your tap water is not clean. Do not use water that has been treated with chemicals, such as water from a water softener.
If you don’t have access to distilled or filtered water, you can boil tap water for at least 5 minutes to kill any bacteria or other contaminants that may be present. Let the water cool completely before adding your seeds.
There are many methods to germinate seeds, but the Soak Method may be the easiest. Make sure to use the method recommended by the seed bank to stay under the terms of the guarantee and you should have great success!
